Marseille

The MCG of 2000 years ago. Used today for bullfights- man against bull- and other spectacles. Called a coliseum , it is in Arles.
The medieval piazza
The market
We are now in Marseille, a big city, famous as a port that has attracted all sorts of people, goodies and baddies. It is dirty, people drop rubbish without thinking about it. So different to other parts of France. Tonight we catch the ferry to Corsica. You can see photos of the Sardine Festival, an annual event, held right next to the water at the port. Much singing and dancing later in the afternoon!
Here are some photos from
yesterday's travels, a small medieval town and the city of Arles, which was occupied by the Romans 2000 years ago.
